The Trinity encompasses the dichotomy of intimate/disparate not as a “conundrum” but as “mystery’: Mystery because the tremendous love and intimate mutuality of the Godhead is beyond human experience. In his letter to all humanity regarding “our Common Home.”, Laudato Sí, broadens environmental consciousness. Aware of the connections characterizing humanity, nature and environment1, Pope Francis applies an "Integral Ecology" to his description of creation and evolution. He refers the Trinity as the analogical referent of the ontological integration of the social and natural world.
Pope Frances describes the natural world "among the most abandoned and maltreated of our poor" (Laudato Sí, 158). Growing social and theological awareness assigns “a preferential option for the poor” to the embrace of Divine Love.
